A complete of 33 jobs are to be misplaced on the fish producing plant operated by Mowi Eire in Fanad.
The job cuts might be carried out from Monday subsequent.
The corporate, Eire’s largest producer of farmed Atlantic salmon, confirmed the job losses in a press release.
There had been fears for job losses way back to Could that there could be job losses on the Rinmore plant.
The corporate says the choice has been taken following a world overview to streamline processing crops that are ‘underneath capability’. It added that secondary fish processing is to stop in Eire within the autumn.
“It’s with nice remorse that Mowi Eire has introduced that it has begun a programme of session with workers concerning a discount in worker numbers,” a spokesperson for the corporate mentioned.
“Following a world overview, a choice has been reached to streamline plenty of processing crops that are underneath capability.
“This may end in secondary fish processing ceasing in Eire by October 2023 resulting in plenty of redundancies on the firm’s Rinmore base in Fanad, Donegal.”
