Letterkenny athlete Mark English has made it by to the semi-finals of the 800 metres on the World Championships in Hungary.
The Finn Valley man posted a season’s better of 1.45.71 and certified as a quickest runner-up.
English needed to overcome a stumble after about 300 metres to complete fourth in his warmth with solely the primary three athletes qualifying.
The Donegal man completed strongly and put himself in with a robust likelihood.
Mark was compelled to observe all the opposite athletes compete within the seven heats earlier than figuring out he was safely by.
He’ll now race in these semi-finals on Thursday.
